In Loving Memory of

Jennie V. Mullins

September 28th, 1933 - January 27th, 2024

Obituary

Jennie Vee Mullins, 90, Indianapolis, went home to be with the Lord and her loving husband on the early afternoon of January 27, 2024. Jennie was born in Gallatin, Tennessee to her parents Clarence and Lela Ethlene Wims. Jennie met the love of her life, her husband, Prentis “Slim” Mullins, and together they shared 66 beautiful years of marriage.

Jennie spent her younger years working quality control for Glass Container and retired after 29 years of service. Jennie was first saved at Rock Bridge Missionary Baptist Church in her teenage years and continued her faith throughout her entire life. She was an honorary trustee along with her husband at Power of Prayer Community Church for several years. She often was found preparing meals and offering support for various church events and functions. Jennie loved gardening and feeding all of the neighborhood critters that crossed her path. She was a wonderful cook who leaves behind delicious memories of her fried chicken which was her husband’s favorite. Jennie loved dancing with Prentis , especially square dancing. Holidays were her favorite as family was her number one. She went all out for holidays including decorating, cooking for an army, and cleanup (her spunky self was adamant that nobody helped), creating the nostalgic environment she leaves behind for her family. Her personal strength and independence will forever be an inspiration to her loved ones. The memories created will be cherished by those she leaves behind.

Jennie is survived by her children Sabrina Farwell, Sheila (Tim) LaDuct, and Dale Dobbs; her grandchildren, April (John) Jones, Ronald (Amanda) Enochs, Sharon (Raymond) Williams and Wade (Kena) Farwell; her great grandchildren, Kylien, Brock, Keeghan, Courtney, Justin, Autumn, Jacob, Logan, Alex, Josie and Hazel; her great great grandchildren, Oliver, Madison, Carmen, Briar, Olivia, Isaiah, and Corina; her several nieces and nephews; her beloved kitty cat, Baby.

Jennie is proceded in death by her parents; her husband; her several siblings.

For visitation, the family will receive loved ones and friends from 5:00pm until 7:00pm on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood.

Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00pm Thursday, February 8, 2024 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood. Burial will immediately follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens at 1:30pm.
