Obituary
Jeffery Scott Tracy, of Indianapolis, passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at the age of 59. Jeff was born in Indianapolis, IN, to his parents, Richard Jerome Tracy and Barbara Gene Tracy. He graduated from Whiteland High School, class of 1983. Jeff worked as a machine operator for Perfect Binding Company, resigning after 21 years of service. As most know, Jeff was a recovering alcoholic, gaining what would have been nine years of sobriety this November. Jeff devoted his sobriety to his faith and relationship with God. He was dedicated to his sobriety, regularly attending meetings and providing support to others. He had recent aspirations and plans to become a recovery specialist to further his commitment to the AA community. Jeff put his children at the center of his life, supporting them in all they do. Nothing made Jeff happier than being a dad and soon-to-be grandpa. Jeff’s passions included spending time with his grandpuppies, his love for his Jeep, and surrounding himself with his friends and family.
Jeff is survived by his son, Justin Tracy; daughter, Katelyn Tracy, who is expecting his first grandson, River Shouse; the mother of his children, Cari Tracy; his brother Rick (Karen) Tracy; his nieces and nephews, Addison (Geoffery) Jones and Alexis (Jake) Morris; and his great nieces, Wren Jones, Willow Morris, and Isla Morris.
Jeff is preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation services for Jeff will be held on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at Forest Lawn Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. The funeral service will follow immediately after.
