Obituary
Jeffrey Elvin Hughes, affectionately known as Jeff, passed away on May 13, 2026, at the age of
63 in a hospital in Milwaukie. Born in Marion, Indiana, Jeff's family moved to Warsaw, Indiana
during his early years, and later to Texas in 1977. He completed his high school education in
Texas and began his career as a mechanic, dedicating several years to the industry.
In 1984, Jeff relocated to Oregon, briefly returned to Texas, and then settled once again in
Oregon, where he made his home. In 1989, he married Billiejo Dunbar at Emmanuel Wesleyan
Church in Portland. They lived together in Estacada and shared many years of marriage until
her passing in 2017. In 2022, Jeff remarried Kimberly Troxel in a ceremony held at a relative's
home in Hillsboro, a union made possible through the introduction by his brother, Doyle Mark.
Jeff devoted 35 years of his professional life to working for Pella, showing commitment and
dedication up until his passing. Beyond his work, Jeff was passionate about fishing,
woodworking and crafting, classic cars, and enjoyed both watching and playing basketball,
soccer, and softball. He cherished coaching these sports alongside his beloved children in
Estacada.
He is survived by his wife, Kimberly; his children, Talya and Misha; stepsons, Daniel and Eric;
his father, James; his brother, Doyle Mark; sisters Dawn, Emily, and Aria; grandchildren,
Annaleah and a child on the way, Xavier; as well as nephews Jaylen and Weston.
