James Richard "Bo" Ratliff

September 19th, 1933 - April 10th, 2024

Obituary

Mr. James Richard "Bo" Ratliff, of Mooresville, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, went Home to be with the Lord on the late afternoon of April 10, 2024. He was 90. Bo was born September 19, 1933 in Logan, West Virginia, the only son of Garland Lee Ratliff and Evie (Shepherd) Ratliff Adkins.
Bo's life was marked by service and dedication. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean conflict, achieving the rank of corporal and earning the Purple Heart for his bravery. After his military service, Bo built a successful driving career in the trucking industry, retiring in 1987 from Yellow Freight Company.
In his leisure time, Bo found joy in music, especially gospel music, and shared his passion with his daughters in the group "Bo and The Ribbons." He cherished moments with his family, whether it was reading his Bible, watching television, or simply being together.
Bo is survived by his loving wife, Marlene Ratliff, his children Patricia (Rick) Hubbard, Linda (Mark) Perry, James (Lisa) Ratliff II, and Jamie Sturgell, along with 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Bo will be Thursday, April 25, 2024 from 11:00 AM until the time of service at Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Funerals service will begin at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Bo will be laid to rest with full military honors at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
