Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of James (Jim) Erwin, who left us on April 25, 2026, at the age of 84. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, at his home in Estacada, Oregon.
Jim shared many enduring friendships through his military service, his active participation in the Veterans of Happy Valley Group, his professional involvement with the Oregon Association of Nursery Growers, and his time with the Portland Gold Prospectors Club. Those who knew Jim will remember him as a gentle and kind man, always ready with a warm smile, a friendly wave, and a sincere greeting. His steady support, willingness to lend a hand, and genuine kindness left a lasting impression on his friends and family.
His memory will be kept alive by his wife, Carol Erwin; daughter, Julie (Erwin) Hawkins; grandchildren, Gabriel Hawkins and Cooper Hawkins; sister, Judy Lane; and the many friends whose lives he touched.
We invite family and friends to join us in celebrating his life on Sunday, July 12, 2026, at 2:00 pm at Eagle Fern Park 27505 SE Eagle Fern Rd, Eagle Creek, OR 97022. A Veterans Honor Ceremony will begin at 2:30 pm. Casual dress.
