Obituary

Helen Irene (Emmert) Hodgson, of Roanoke, passed away on Friday, September 9,  2022.  She was born on May 28, 1922 to Warren and Gertrude Emmert. 
Helen worked at SE Massengill, Bristol, TN and Stone Paper Tube Company, Washington, DC. She was a lifetime member of PTA, Bristol, TN and a member of Locust Grove United Methodist Church. 
Preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George Jackson Hodgson; 2 sisters, Ruth Ratliff, Lucille Emmert; 4 brothers, Carl Emmert, James W. Emmert, Jr., Fred Emmert and Eddie Emmert.
Her surviving family includes; daughter, Terri (Teddy) Adkins, of Myrtle Beach; granddaughter, Amanda (Zak) Obenchain, of Vinton; grandson, Chris Adkins; great granddaughters, Madison and Isabella Chandler; great grandson, Hunter Obenchain; sister-in-law, Pauline Kestner; and nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 from 1 to 2 p.m.at Lotz Salem Chapel.  Funeral service will follow visitation at 2 p.m. in the chapel.  Interment will follow in Old Dominion Memorial Park.
