Obituary
Harold W. “Butch” Brown, Jr., 79, of Port
Matilda, passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at home surrounded by family. He
was born February 18, 1945 in Bellefonte. He was the son of the late Harold W.
and Mildred (Wright) Brown.
Butch is survived by his wife and best friend,
Mary Jo of 44 years, and his five children, Jamie and his wife Stephanie,
Jeremy and his wife Sydney, Antoinette and her husband Mark, Tracy and her
husband Nick and Marc and his wife Kelly; seven grandchildren, Nicholas, Mark,
Mike, Samantha, Colten and his wife Emily, Karah and Ryan and his wife Bethany and
five great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Garrett, Gavin, Grantley and Sami Jo.
Butch was the owner of Brown's Appliance and
Electric Repair for 50 years, wiring the new construction projects in the State
College area built by Loesch Construction and wiring the new homes in the old
section of Park Forest for J. Alvin Hawbaker. After retirement he still was an
electrician, carpenter, plumber, mechanic and repair consultant with the
answers needed for all of us. He enjoyed searching the Market Place listings
online and playing the card games and spent lots of time watching the history
channels.
