Obituary
Gordon Howard Allen of Portland, Oregon passed from this life into eternal life with Jesus on April 28, 2019 at 80 years of age. He was born in Tali, Yunnan, China. A son of missionary parents William Aspinall Allen and Lucille Virginia March, he spent his early childhood in China and a boarding school in Northern India. When he returned to the states, he lived on Orcas Island, graduating Valedictorian from Orcas Island High School in Washington. He received his Bachelors degree in Zoology from Seattle Pacific University, and became a medical technologist. He married Janet Valenta in 1966 and had five children. Gordon retired from St. Vincents Hospital in 2001. Gordon's lifelong passions included calligraphy, photography, rock collecting, fly fishing, camping, nature walks and reading the Bible. Gordon remarried Corinne Seel of Longview, Washington in 2001. Gordon is survived by his brother, David Allen of Mt. Vernon, WA, his sister Ruth Billings of McMinnville, OR, his sister Dorothy Allen of Longview, WA, his son Jeffrey Allen of France, his daughter Rachel Allen Foreman of Escondido, CA, his son Joshua Allen of Escondido, CA and two sons Jason Allen, and Jeremy Allen. He has seven grandsons, one great granddaughter, and four step grandchildren. Graveside service will he held at Forrester Cemetery in Estacada on Saturday, May 4 at 11:30 a.m. Flowers can be sent to Estacada Funeral Chapel in Estacada, OR. Donations in lieu of flowers can be sent to Seattle Pacific University or Overseas Missionary Fellowship International.
