Obituary

Longtime Colton resident, George Hartsell, died Friday, April 30, 2021 in Portland. He was 88 years old. A celebration of his life will be held 10am, Saturday, May 15, 2021 at Estacada First Baptist Church. George Howard Hartsell was born November 25, 1932 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to George and Myrtle (Viney) DeMasse. In 1940, he moved to San Diego then to San Francisco in 1949 with is family. George entered into the US Marines in 1951 where he served in Korea and was honorably discharged in 1954. In 1964, he purchased property in Colton and moved there in 1976. He worked as a plumber for the correctional institution in Salem most of his working career. George married Sharon Slama in 1974. She died in 2008. George enjoyed his property. He is survived by his daughter, Tina Fritch; granddaughters, Lindsay Smith and Sydney Kilgore; 6 great grandchildren.
