Obituary
Garry Bergman, 7/13/1935-04/26/2024
Garry Seymour Bergman was born in 1935 in Hartford, Connecticut to the late Charles and Freda Bergman. He served in the US Navy from 1955 to 1961 with the honor and dignity he lived his life with. Garry graduated college in Hartford with a bachelor’s degree and became a certified public accountant where he practiced in his field for over forty-five years.
Garry was a fun-loving, witty, devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother-in-law, father-in-law, and friend with an immense sense of humor that never went unnoticed. Garry married Rochelle (Shellie) Louis Levitz in Hartford, Connecticut on April 12th, 1959, and they raised their two sons, Jules Bergman, and Frank Bergman, with the undying love and humor that was distinctly identifiable throughout their entire marriage of sixty-five years.
Garry and Shellie moved to Florida in 1977, where Garry owned his own certified public accounting practice. They settled in Plantation, Florida; later moving to Villaggio in Lake Worth, Florida; and eventually moving to the Palace at Weston in 2022. Garry was a loyal, honest, hardworking, loving, and funny man who enjoyed sailing on his sailboat, playing tennis, and spending quality time with his beloved family and friends.
Garry is survived by his wife, Shellie, his son Frank, his daughter-in-law, Jodi, and his grandson Joseph. He is preceded in death by his son, Jules Bergman, and his parents. Garry will be lovingly missed by his family and friends, but he will live on in the hearts of all that knew and adored him.
