Obituary
DAVIDSON, Freda Dee (Dame), a 70-year resident of Del Norte County, California, passed away on Saturday, May 3, 2025, after 89 years of living life to the fullest. She was born to Milton and Gladys Dame on February 23, 1936, in Corburn, Colorado. She joins her parents; her husband, Ray; her son, George Timothy Maciel; and her sister, Donna.
Freda was always on the move and valued keeping busy, whether cleaning, cooking, shopping, horseback riding, or just working hard in general. However, her favorite passion was spending time with her family. She loved big family dinners and delivering mail and newspapers to her neighbors in town, often with several little helpers (her grandchildren) in tow.
She was an active member of the Emblem Club in Crescent City, serving in every role from Secretary to President. The club’s guests never went hungry as she took charge of cooking for many of the fundraising dinners held at the Elk’s Lodge. Her service to the club was fundamental in contributing to the needs of her local community, with the proceeds going to aid veterans, the elderly, and scholarships, to name but a few.
Freda is survived by her brother, Charles; son, John Maciel and his wife, Dana; son, Jimmy Maciel and his wife, Toni; her grandchildren Gavin Maciel (Christina), Trevor Maciel, Talia Maciel (Antonio), Jamie Pence, Michael Maciel (Amanda), Matthew Maciel, Katie Carlin (Ross), Sarah Svendsen (Tristen), Rebekah Maciel (Cy), and Madison Maciel; and great-grandchildren Hunter, Penny, Jenicca, Alyssa, Austin, Preston, Adella, Sephora, and DaisyLynn.
She will be deeply missed by her family but will live on forever in our hearts and memories. We love you, Mom (Grammy).
