Obituary

Sandy resident, Fred Lukens, died February 1st, 2021. He was 78.

Fred was born on October 13, 1942 in Portland to Bert and Aileen (Shapland) Lukens. After finishing school, he joined the US Navy serving on the USS Koiner. In 1973 Fred married the love of his life, Janice Dole. Fred was previously co-owner of Pacific Northwest Sales Inc. with Don Bean.

Fred loved working with wood. He would make mirrors, clocks, earrings and bowls. Fred and Janice would love to go out to local shows and markets to sell his creations.

He is survived by his wife Janice Lukens, daughter Corrie Sweet, son-in-law Dave Sweet, sons Tony and Troy Lukens granddaughter Courtney Hoffmeister, grandson Colin Sweet and two brothers Bert and Leonard Lukens. Fred is also survived by several other grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.

A private family graveside will be held at Willamette National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Fred’s name to Signature Hospice at 7632 SW Durham Rd #130, Tigard, OR 97224

Thanking our Lord for surrounding Janice and Fred’s precious children with His deep love, comfort and peace, in Jesus name... 2 Corinthians 5:8 “To be absent from the body is to be home with the Lord”...so thankful to know Fred is healed and well in Heaven with our Lord ... Fred is deeply loved and missed. He was warm-hearted, jolly, devoted, strong and talented. We who knew him were blessed for it, so we thank the Lord for Fred's time on earth. He is missed by many and was a blessing to those who were fortunate to know him. Mary S Heileson
