Obituary
Frank William Gearlds, Indianapolis, passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2024. He was 88 years old. Frank was born in Elbow, KY to his parents, Earl and Irene Gearlds . Frank married his wife, Gladys (Halcomb) Gearlds, on
February 4, 1958 and they shared 66 years of marriage together.
Frank worked as a supervisor for Anchor Glass Container and retired in 1995 after 39 years of service. Frank was a member of the Church of Christ with his wife for over ten years. Frank enjoyed caring for his vegetable garden and sharing his vegetable yields with his friends, family and neighbors. Frank enjoyed woodworking and made several bird houses and doll houses during his life. He was the life of the party and enjoyed dancing with his wife and those close to him. Frank was a lifelong UK wildcat fan and a learned IU fan. Frank’s special sense of humor and out of pocket jokes will be dearly missed by those he leaves behind.
Frank is survived by his wife, Gladys Gearlds; his son, Rick (Sandy) Gearlds; his grandchildren, Kassandra (Jess) Chadwell and Kristin McGuire; his great grandchildren, Vance Chadwell, Zola Chadwell, and Marlowe Chadwell; his nieces and nephews,Larry, Lyndon, Lonnie, and Lynette Gearlds, and Linda Lou Davis; several sister and brother in laws.
Frank is preceded in death by his parents; his granddaughter, Amber McGuire; his siblings,L.D. Gearlds and Ella Monday.
A visitation for Frank will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2024 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. The funeral service will be on Thursday, March 28, 2024 Gardens at 2:00 pm.
