Greenbow, AL - Forrest T. Gump, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2026.
Born and raised in Greenbow, Forrest lived a life defined by kindness, humility, and unwaivering devotion to those he loved.
A proud United States Army veteran and recipient of the Medal of Honor, he served his country with courage before returning home to build a successful shrimping business and become a respected member of his community.
Forrest found joy in life's simple moments. He enjoyed running down country roads, spending time outdoors, and sharing stories that brought smiles to everyone he met. Above all else, he cherished being a father to his son, Forrest Gump Jr, and carried a lifelong love for his late wife, Jenny.
He is survived by his son, Forrest Gump Jr, extended family, and countless friends whose lives were made brighter by his generosity and gentle spirit.
Family and friends may visit on Thursday, July 2, 2026, from 2:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Greenbow Memorial Home.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 3, 2026, at 10:00 am at Greenbow Community Church. Interment will follow with military honors at Greenbow Memorial Gardens.

The fund supports aspiring shrimpers and students pursuing careers in commercial fishing, marine trades, and coastal conservation, carrying forward Bubba's dream and Forrest's commitment to helping others succeed.
