Obituary

Elizabeth "Betty" Creisler, 83, died October 5, 2012 in Crescent City. She was born October 31, 1928 in Oakland, California. She graduated from the University of California at Berkeley and married Joe Creisler in 1950. She and Joe moved to Crescent City in 1951, where they raised a family. She worked for the Del Norte County school district and taught piano for many years. She led 4-H groups as well. Her hobbies included knitting and other yarn crafts, along with music, photography, and baking. She especially loved collecting dolls, making doll clothes, and designing her own patterns. In the late 1960s, she also developed unique and innovative sweater patterns for early knitting machines and was published in several knitting machine magazines. She also took an active interest in her Welsh heritage. She remained a resident of Crescent City until her death.
She was preceded in death by her husband Joe Creisler, who died in 2008, and is survived by four children, six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Private family services were held.
