Obituary

Long time Gresham resident, Walter JohnLee Hayes, died May 25, 2021. He was 63.

Walter was born July 2, 1957 to Charles and Alice (Wood) Hayes in Portland. Dub’s family moved to Sandy in 1960 where he spent his childhood playing sports and finding adventure in the outdoors. He attended school in Sandy, graduating from Sandy High School. Dub worked for many years in construction and was a very skilled carpenter. He retired in February of 2021.

Dub was an avid outdoors-man in all areas. He loved watching his grandsons play football, baseball and basketball just as he did. He loved to watch his granddaughter do anything.

He is survived by his Daughter Cara Parmantier (Ryan), two grandsons and 1 granddaughter of Winlock, WA. Also, his chosen son Craig Andersen (Becky) and his family of Portland, OR along with his best friend and caregiver Joanne Cyphers Merris.

Per his request, no public services will be held.
