Obituary
Donna Lee Rose, of Indianapolis, passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2024. She was 74 years old. Donna was born in Glasgow, KY to her parents Robert and Mattie Smith. She graduated from Arsenal Tech High School, class of 1967. Donna married her husband, Charles Rose, on December 5, 1980 and together they shared 43 wonderful years of marriage together.
Donna worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield right out of highschool and later continued her professional career as a CNA for Greenwood Village and as a private duty CNA. Donna chose to stop working in 2005 after over thirty years to help care for her grandchildren. Donna was a member of Southport United Methodist Church with her husband for many years. She enjoyed being a Sunday school teacher for elementary children. Donna loved supporting her daughter’s girl scout troop as the Troop Leader. Donna enjoyed scrolling through facebook and staying up to date with her family and friends. She was a very charismatic and kind mother who loved her children and grandchildren with her whole heart. She will be dearly missed by those she loved.
Donna is survived by her loving husband, Charles Rose; her children, Tiffany (Vernon) Rose, Robert Rose; Stepchildren, Craig (Wanda) Rose, Tonya (Max) McGathey, and Tammy (Michael) Franke; her grandchildren, Chase, Kayla, Hannah, Barbara, Angel, Chandra, Matthew, Craig Jr., Monica, Alex, Josh, Austin and Caitlin; her 17 great grandchildren; her sisters, Minnie Hicks and Mary Morris; her several nieces and nephews.
Donna is preceded in death by her parents Robert and Mattie Smith; her siblings Eddie Smith, Aline Dillon, Robert Smith Jr., Rosie Henturp, Alfred Smith, Hazel Grizzle, Joe Smith, William Smith, Jimmie Smith, Joyce Craig.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Tiffany’s home on 3/23/24.
