Obituary
Deanna Duke Arbuckle passed away on September 28, 2025 at
Regency Gresham Nursing Home in Gresham, Oregon. Born February 1, 1939 in
Atlanta, Georgia to Inda Limbo Duke and Garland Thomas Duke, Sr., she is
predeceased by her parents; husband Robert Arbuckle; brothers Garland Duke, Jr.
and Robert Duke; sister Merle Walker; and son Charles Kibling, III. She is
survived by daughters Jessie Monaco and Terri Winkle; son, Gene 'Boots' Burgess
(Marie); 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Deanna began adult life as a young military wife, traveling
throughout Europe while stationed with her husband in Germany. Returning to the
states, her path led to a much different life, one lived on ranches and in
small communities where she worked outside the home as a waitress, bartender
and bookkeeper.
Known by many as "Momma Dee", she knew people well
and was quick to offer her gracious heart to those who needed an ear, advice or
just a shoulder to cry on. She enjoyed growing plants, painting, playing pool,
singing karaoke or just hanging out with friends. Hers was a life full of both
pain and triumph. She will be sorely missed.
Services will be held on October 17, 2025 at Sandy Funeral
Home in Sandy, Oregon. Viewing will be from 10am-12pm and Memorial Services
from 12-1pm, with interment immediately following at Cliffside Cemetery. A
joint Celebration of Life will be at Gateway Pub in Sandy later that evening.
