Obituary
Darlene Morrison, a cherished wife, mother, Mimi, sister, daughter, and friend, departed this world on April 19, 2024, in Ormond Beach, Florida, at the age of 64, following an intense and brief battle with cancer. She was surrounded by family and ready to join her Lord in Heaven.
Born in Port St. Joe, FL, Darlene leaves behind her beloved husband and high-school sweetheart, Tom, her daughters Christine, Lauren (Adam), and Brooke, and her granddaughter, Eleanor. She is also survived by her sister, Dawn (Joe), and her parents, Allen and Helon Suggs, as well as parents-, brothers- and sisters-in-law and nephews and nieces, who all held a special place in her heart.
Darlene's life was a testament to her deep love of God, commitment to her family, and dedication to her church, where she served for 36 years. She found joy in singing, especially through praise and worship. One of her favorite things to do was spend time with her granddaughter, Eleanor, with whom she became best friends the moment she first held her in the hospital almost five years ago.
A lover of life's simple pleasures, Darlene found happiness in the company of friends and family, playing and coaching softball, spending time at Disney World, traveling often, and cuddling with her dog, Picard, while watching Star Trek.
Darlene truly never met a stranger. Though she may no longer walk among us, her warmth will continue to shine through the memories she created and the love she shared. May she find eternal peace in the embrace of her Heavenly Father, knowing that she was deeply loved and will be dearly missed.
A memorial service honoring Darlene will take place on Saturday, April 27, 2024, with viewing at 9:30 AM and service beginning at 11:00 AM at Calvary Christian Center, 1687 W Granada Blvd, Ormond Beach, FL. A livestream of the service can be viewed online through the following link:
