Obituary
Danny “ Dan”Lou Coltra passed away December 30, 2022 in Crescent City, CA. He was born September 11, 1950 in Arcata, CA to Andrew and Gertrude (Turner) Coltra.They moved to Crescent when he was 9 years old. He remained a lifelong resident. Dan was the eldest of 5 boys.
After high school he worked on the green chain at the various mills around Smith River, Crescent City, and Arcata. He eventually became a Mill Wright working at Northcrest Lumber and Hambro’s Forest Products in Crescent City. In 1989 he became a licensed electrician and started Coltra Electric. He was known as one of the best electricians in the area and was the main electrician for Reservation Ranch and Ship Ashore Resort.
He married the love of his life Roselyn in 1972. Dan loved spending time with his family and doting on his granddaughters. They were the apple of his eye. He was an avid pheasant hunter and loved his bird dogs.
Dan was preceded in death by his loving wife Roselyn Coltra, son Brandon Coltra, parents Andrew and Gertrude Coltra, and brother Patrick Coltra.
He is survived by his granddaughters Kaylee and Kaitlyn Coltra of Crescent City, brothers Terry Coltra (passed 4/9/23) of Eureka, CA, Rick (Becky) Coltra of Minden, NV , Gary Coltra of Crescent City, CA, Uncle Wayne Turner (Janet) of Crescent City, CA, nephews Greg Coltra (Julie), Steve Coltra, Johnny Wiens, Brian Wiens (Eiliene), niece Alisa (David) Griffith and numerous great nieces, great nephews and cousins.
