Obituary
Coryne Joan Hoffard passed away June 18, 2012 in Crescent City, CA. She was born on September 3, 1928 in Saltcoast Saskatchewan, Canada. Coryne married her beloved husband and best friend John in 1950. Together they had three children while in Canada, then moved to Los Angeles, had two more children and remained there to raise the family. John and Coryne were very involved in their childrens lives and had a large extended family. Their house was the place where most of the family get togethers were held, where many cousins, aunts and uncles enjoyed hanging out around the pool and having barbecues and most holidays were spent with the extended family in their home. They seemed to always have friends and family visiting from Canada and their house was always the house where company stayed. Coryne was the ultimate hostess. John and Coryne enjoyed taking their family to Canada and Washington every year to visit Corynes family. They had many good times on Vancouver Island visiting Corynes mother and visiting her brothers and their families in Washington.
After retirement they moved back to Canada and enjoyed spending more time with family and lifelong friends. They were snowbirds enjoying winters in desert hot springs where good friends and family would also go. John passed away in 1993 and Coryne moved to Crescent City to be near her children and grandchildren. She lived a quiet life here, enjoying beach combing and spending time with her family. Those close to Coryne appreciated her dry sense of humor. She had a lot of life and laughter in her and will be greatly missed.
Cornyne was preceded in death by her husband John, her cherished daughter Judy and brothers Frank and Jerry Carter. Coryne is survived by children Linda Sasada (Mark) of Reno, NV; son Rich Hoffard of Thousand Oaks, CA; Joanne Hoffard and Sue Ortega (Jim) all of Crescent City. Grandchildren Nicole and Danielle Sasada; Darren, Jamie and Nick Ortega and Carrie & Donald Bushman.
