Clark T. Drumm

February 4th, 1944 - April 7th, 2024

Obituary

Clark T. Drumm was born on February 4, 1944, in Schenectady, NY. He was the son of Clark M. Drumm and Lorraine Van Zandt Drumm. He passed away peacefully on April 7, 2024, after a long courageous battle with cancer. He was an elementary reading and math teacher at Saranac Central Schools, Saranac, NY where he also served as president of the Saranac Teachers Association for many years. He dedicated his career to improving working conditions and the quality of education and healthcare for teachers. He served on the “NYSUT Committee of 100” as a lobbyist at the local, state and national levels. He loved sailing on Lake Champlain with the Valcour Sailing Club, as well as cross country skiing and hiking in the Adirondack Mountains. After retirement he relocated to Ormond Beach, Florida where he enjoyed going to the beach and playing golf. He volunteered for the Players Tournament, where he was recently awarded membership in THE PLAYERS Volunteer Leadership Society for his dedication and outstanding service as a 20-year volunteer. He also volunteered at RSM Classic at Sea Island Golf Club, Saint Simons, Georgia. Clark’s happy place was reading books, traveling with his wife, and spending time with his family.  

Clark is survived by his loving wife, Deborah Mae Drumm of Palm Coast, FL. His children; Derek Drumm, and John & Julie Drumm of Plattsburgh, NY. Jason Krak, and Jared Krak & Molly McDonnell of Troy, NY, and Jessica Krak of Palm Coast, FL. Sister Diane & William Shea of Ormond Beach, FL, and their children Kendra Shea & Jack Carney of Birmingham, AL and Keith & Stephanie Shea of Chapel Hill, NC. He was a very loved “Papa” to his grandchildren Gregory, Lindsey, Elijah, Jada, and Evan.

Arrangements are entrusted to LOHMAN FUNERAL HOME ORMOND, 733 W Granada Blvd, Ormond Beach, FL 32174, 386-673-1100.
