Obituary

Estacada resident, Christ Vlessis, died at his home on Sunday, December 26, 2021. He was 92. A funeral service will be held Noon, Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at Estacada Funeral Chapel. Private interment will follow at Logan Pleasant View Cemetery. Christ Nicholas Vlessis was born August 24, 1929 in Samos, Greece. He served in the Greek Hellenic Army during the Korean War, and at age 26, moved to the United States. On November 29, 1958, he married Rose Greco in Ohio where their 4 children were born. They later moved to Buffalo, New York and eventually to Milwaukie, Oregon, where they lived for several years before settling in Estacada in 1982. Christ retired in 1994 after working for Precision Cast Parts for 22 years. In retirement Christ enjoyed spending his summers in Greece, and the rest of the year with family. Survivors include his wife Rose; sons, Nick Vlessis, Angelo (Lisa) Vlessis, Damon Vlessis; daughter, Lisa (Kurt) Wilson and 4 grandchildren.

Dear Rose and family, May his memory be eternal. Forwarded a few pics of the summer of 2016. I am forever grateful for the Samos experience. The pic of his 88th birthday when it was too windy for a candle so George used a cell phone light for the wish. The last one is Papou showing Chris the spring at Lekka on the feast of St Paraskevi.
