In Loving Memory of

Charline Rhea 'Susie' Scheil

January 19th, 1932 - April 4th, 2024

Obituary

Mrs. Charline Rhea Scheil, affectionately known as Susie, peacefully departed this world on the morning of April 4, 2024 at her residence. She was 92. Born January 19, 1932, in Shelbyville, Indiana, she was the cherished daughter of the late Charles and Rachel Tyner.
Susie graduated from Shelbyville High School and pursued her passion for nursing at the Indiana University School of Nursing. She later earned her bachelor's degree from Indiana Central University, now known as the University of Indianapolis, in 1977. Susie dedicated nearly 20 years of her life to Community Health, where she served diligently until her retirement in the mid-1990s.
A faithful member of Southport Presbyterian Church, Susie found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She relished her time outdoors, tending to her garden and engaging in friendly card games, particularly euchre and bridge, with her beloved friends. An unwavering supporter of the St. Louis Cardinals, Susie delighted in accompanying her family to Busch Stadium in St. Louis to cheer on her favorite team. In her leisure moments, Susie immersed herself in literature and showcased her culinary skills as an excellent cook. She leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth, cherished by her husband, Kenny Scheil; her children, Stan (Anne) Scheil, David (Sandra) Scheil and Jay (Betty) Scheil; her grandchildren, Andrew (Ashley), John, Madalyn, Parker, Abigail, and Gabrielle as well as her great-grandchildren, Noah and Mason.
In addition to her parents, Susie was preceded in passing by her brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Joyce Tyner.
Though she may have departed from this world, Susie's kindness, laughter, and unwavering love will forever resonate in the hearts of those she touched.
Funeral services to celebrate Susie's remarkable life will be held at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at the Benjamin Franklin Chapel at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens with entombment following at the Benjamin Franklin Mausoleum. Friends may pay their respects starting at 12:00 PM until the time of the service at the chapel.
