Obituary
On Wednesday, April 21, 2021, Catherine Dorcas McKay passed away, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on March 17, 1946 to the late Albert and Genevieve Valberg, Catherine was a lifelong resident of Boring, Oregon. A force of nature with a boisterous laugh and an enormous heart, Catherine was a beloved mother, a cherished grandmother, and a devoted friend.
Mother of Craig (April) Dobson, Scott (April) Dobson, and Dan (DeAnna) McKay; grandmother of Allyson, Josh, Daley, Dash, Brooklyn, Sydney, Paige, Chase, Lucy, Charlotte, and Phoebe; and a second mother to countless others, Catherine was preceded in death by her husband Jerome McKay, her son Jim McKay, and her brother Lawrence “Sparky” Valberg.
A viewing will be held at Sandy Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 28 from 2-5 p.m. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, April 29 at 11:30 a.m. with a private interment ceremony to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Catherine's name to the Hospice Foundation of America or to the charity of your choice.
