Obituary
Carol Lou Ridenour, aged 83, born on November 15, 1940, in Okemos, Michigan to the late Harvey Eugene and Maxine Barnard, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2024, at McLaren in Lansing. She was a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, revered for her courage and thoughtfulness throughout her life. Carol grew up in Okemos, Michigan, where she graduated from high school. Her first job was a receptionist and telephone operator for Okemos High School; she became a certified Nurses Aide and worked a few years in a nursing home. She was a constant presence in her family's life, standing as a pillar of support and love alongside her beloved husband, the late Robert "Bob" Ridenour, who predeceased her in 2017; they married on March 24, 1962 in Lansing. Together, they were a dynamic duo known for their devotion to each other, their family, and their business ventures. Over the years, Carol played an integral role in the running of Ridenours Auto Repair and Towing. her commitment to her work was coupled with an equal commitment to her family, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of her children and grandchildren. Known fondly as the "cookie lady" to everyone, Carol's love for baking and sharing her treats became a signature of her nurturing soul. She joins in eternal rest her departed sister Jean Marie, and brothers Douglas and Richard, with the assurance that her legacy will live on through her descendants.Carol lived a life graced with courage and imbued with thoughtfulness - a truly remarkable woman who will be remembered for her generous heart, strong will and the unconditional love she had for her family. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at 12:00pm at Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes - Perry Chapel - 214 S. Main Street - Perry, Michigan. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2:00-4:00pm & 6:00-8:00pm.
