Obituary
Carole L Campbell 86, a resident at Brookdale Harrisburg
passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 28, 2024 while a patient at UPMC
Harrisburg.
Born Carole L. Renn on February 26, 1938, in Shamokin Pa.,
she was the daughter of the late William and Hilda (Emerich) Renn. Carole is
preceded in death by her brothers, Chet and Darwin of Shamokin; and sisters,
Beverly Seik of Mt. Carmel, Pa and Winifred Mestlin of Shamokin, Pa.
Carole grew up in Shamokin, PA where she met and married the
love of her life, David Campbell. The couple relocated to Harrisburg and
remained happily married until his passing in 2001.
Retiring from AMP Incorporated, Carole loved spending time
at the family summer cottage along the Juniata River. She spent many afternoons
on the cottage porch enjoying the quiet time, watching the river and enjoying
nature. She enjoyed feeding all of the local birds, especially orioles and hummingbirds. She was the queen of solving board puzzles and doing word
searches. Her holiday meals and Sunday pot roast dinners with mashed potatoes
were a family favorite. Most of all she loved being surrounded by her family.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. All that
knew her will miss her smile, blue eyes and quick wit.
Carole is survived by son, David Campbell (Karen) of
Virginia; son, Barry Campbell (Colleen) of Harrisburg; daughter Sherry Thomas
(Tom) of Harrisburg and son Keith Campbell (Carol) of Duncannon; six
grandchildren; Savannah Campbell, Jen Temple (Mike), Christine Wertz (Brian),
Carla Campbell, Adam Campbell, Laura Steigerwalt (Sam). Additionally, nine
great grandchildren survive her.
A memorial service will be held at the Tall Cedars Picnic
Area, 8143 Jonestown Road, Harrisburg on Sunday, June 2, 2024 from 12:00pm to
4:00pm. To secure a catering quantity we are asking those planning to attend to
