Obituary

On March 28, 1992, our "Little Angel Sent From Heaven" Briquitta Jacqueline Gordon was born to Mel and Jackie Gordon. We gave her name, Briquitta, that meaning since we could never find the real meaning of her name and to us, that's what she was and always will be, Our Little Angel. She was a very easy little child to raise, always telling on herself when she did something wrong. She loved playing dress up and going on treasure hunts. She was so very excited the day her dad taught her to ride a bike! Every year, the Saturday before Christmas, her parents took her downtown Portland and she handed out gloves to the homeless. One year, when she was about 4 years old and all the gloves had been handed out, she took her own gloves off her hand giving them so one more homeless person could keep their hands warm. She was homeschooled for 3 years before she went to Hood View Adventist Academy. She was voted in not once, but twice as student body president there. She was an excellent student and the singer in a small band a few of the kids formed. It was exciting to see her and her group perform at the eighth-grade graduation reception. She attended Portland Adventist Academy for a short time, but spend most of her high school years at Portland Christian. She took her last year of high school and her first year of college together at Mt Hood Community College. Then she attended Grand Canyon University for a year, but by then she was starting to have increasing medical problems from the two car accidents she was in and she never returned there. She did further her education by taking courses at a couple different Community Colleges. From the time she was a baby, she spent her summers in her parents blueberry field and boating on the river. She became the fastest little blueberry picker and was able to earn good money picking and selling berries. She had just created a business card to use when working with her dad in their business venture of Currin Country Farms. She loved adult coloring and used it as a means of calming her anxiety when it got out of control. She also found comfort in reading her Bible and uplifting morning devotional books. When able, she loved snowboarding, hiking, boating, badminton, dancing, hanging out with friends and traveling. Four years ago she met her fiancé Beaumont Gile, they loved each other very much. She struggled much with medical issues and pain control. It was an uphill battle for her to get the help she needed from the medical professional and in the end, that's what needlessly took her life. She most likely passed away in her sleep after midnight on August 6, 2018. She is survived by her father, Mel Gordon; her mother, Jacqui Jones; her fiance, Beau Gile; her grandmother Stella Bechthold; her aunt Lorraine Hall on her mother's side and her aunt's and uncles on her father's side, Janice Oviatt, Greg and Carol Gordon, Ruth Fox, Mark Gordon, Susan Gordon, Doug and Donna Gordon, Matt and Jenny Gordon, John and Josephina Gordon, Jean Gordon, Julie Gordon, Nancy and Justin Thomas and Mr. and Mrs Jeff Gordon, as well as many cousins. She was loved and adored by many. She will be missed beyond measure and so looked forward to on the day of Jesus return! In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund for Briquitta has been set up at her dad's address: Mel Gordon, 30250 SE Currin Rd., Estacada, OR 97023
