Obituary
Beverly B. Richards of Oregon City, OR. Passed peacefully into the Lord’s peaceful eternity on October 7th 2021 in the arms of her loving husband David Stanley Richards Jr. She was born November 30, 1939 to William and Doris (Thornton) Blottie in Bloomington Indiana. Graduating from high school when the family moved to Springfield Illinois, her higher education in Historical Preservation at Sangamon State University complemented her father’s marble, granite, and limestone business which restored significant Lincoln buildings. Beverly had career experience in running trade associations for the Illinois Bar Association, broadcasters, and funeral professions. Early civic participation in Junior League made lasting friendships nationwide, including selection as “woman of the year” while in Texas promoting “C.C.90” in Corpus Christi. Her business interests took her to Boston, Chicago, St. Louis, and New Orleans. In Portland, as Director of Bethany Montessori School she championed children’s growth. She published books to teach banking, manners, and cooking. Beverly was predeceased by her parents, a younger brother Billy, and her ex-husband. She is survived by her son Zachery Spiller and granddaughters Audrey and Mary; also a sister Carol. She married Stan Richards in 2013, and acquired two sons, a daughter, and multiple grandchildren. She was a member of the Christian Science church where friends delighted in sharing her spiritual joy in God. In remembrance of Beverly, you’re invited to offer prayers of Faith, Peace, and Kindness.
