Obituary

Betty Jean Goddard, 76, passed away March 12, 2012 in a rest home in Crescent City, CA of natural causes.

Betty was born October 5, 1935 to Boots & Edmund McClaran in Muskogee, Oklahoma. She grew up in Bakersfield, CA and graduated from Bakersfield South High School in 1952. Betty went on to start a family of her own with Frank Young with whom she had two sons, Jim & Frank Young. Frank and Betty were divorced and she later married Jack Goddard. During their life together, she very much enjoyed being his secretary as he was constable of Del Norte. In her spare time, Betty enjoyed family time, crafts such as making Christmas ornaments and ceramics. She also enjoyed fishing.

Surviving Betty are her sons Jim & his wife Jennifer and their two children Savanna Machelle Young and James Franklin Young all of Connecticut. Her other son, Frank Young and his three children Rocky Dean Young, Emma-La-Jean Young and Thomas Jack Young all of Crescent City, CA.

Private interment will take place at the Del Norte County Veterans Cemetery.
