Obituary

Antoinette "Toni" Boyd, a luminary of grace and kindness, passed away on March 19, 2024, at the age of 82, leaving behind a legacy woven with love, devotion, and extraordinary accomplishments.
Born on June 23, 1941, in the vibrant community of Muncie, Indiana, Toni's journey was adorned with remarkable achievements and boundless compassion. From her earliest days, she showcased a natural talent for ballet, captivating audiences with her elegant movements and heartfelt performances. As an accomplished ballerina, Toni graced the stages of Ball State University, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of all who beheld her artistry.
Toni's love for the arts was matched only by her passion for adventure and discovery. For 22 years, she immersed herself in the tranquil beauty of Florida's sun-kissed beaches, where she delighted in hunting for seashells and strolling along the sandy shores. With each shell she collected and each step she took, Toni found solace and joy in the rhythmic melody of the ocean's song, forging cherished memories that would sustain her throughout her life.
In addition to her artistic pursuits and love for nature, Toni was a pillar of strength and compassion in her community. As part-owner and manager of Freddies Record Shop, she endeared herself to patrons and artists alike, enriching the local music scene with her unwavering dedication and boundless generosity. Through her warmth and kindness, Toni touched the lives of countless individuals, leaving behind a legacy of love and camaraderie that will endure for generations to come.
Toni's passing leaves a void that can never be filled, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Toni is survived by her loving husband, Fred Boyd of  65 years; her devoted daughter, Cindy, who shared her passion for horses and the beauty of the Florida coast. Together, they cultivated a bond strengthened by their shared love for life's simple pleasures; her son, Christopher (wife, Erin) Max Boyd, who was a true mama's boy, cherishing every moment spent in his mother's loving embrace; sisters, Shara D. (husband, Dave) Gabriel Smith, Marcia Gabriel Musick; sister-in-law, Barbara Boyd; brother-in-law, Gary (wife, Jill) Boyd; 4 grandsons, Kennith (wife, Misti) Boyd, Travis and Mitchell Stanley, and Kyle Stewart; 2 great-great grandsons; 4 nieces and 5 nephews; and special Florida friends, Mary Ann and Diz.
Toni was preceded in death by her parents Otto and Beverly (Adams) Gabriel; and her grandson, Matthew Jerrod Stanley.
Calling hours for Toni will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM at Garden View Funeral Home which is located on 10501 North State Road 3 Muncie, Indiana 47303. A funeral will be held at 12:00 PM with Dr. Rev. Rusty Clements officiating. There will be no burial held at this time.

Though Toni may no longer walk among us, her love, grace, and indomitable spirit will continue to inspire all who were touched by her presence. May she rest in peace, knowing that she was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.
