In Loving Memory of

Angelo Antonio Del Buono

October 30th, 1943 - August 25th, 2024

Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Angelo Del Buono, 80, of Ormond Beach, Florida, who left us on August 25, 2024. He was beloved by his wife, Mary Del Buono, who had been married for 53 years.

Angelo Del Buono was born on October 30, 1943, in Alvignanello, Italy, to Gennaro and Maria Del Buono.

He is survived by his four children, son Anthony Del Buono and his wife, Adriana of Sanford, Florida, daughters Marilena Diaz and her husband Raph of Waterbury, Connecticut, Claudia Cirillo and her husband Mike of Deltona, Florida, Lucia Panton and husband Marcus of Pembroke Pines, Florida. He is also survived by ten grandchildren: Anthony, Stefanie, Marisa, Dakota, Adrian, Nick, Alex, Gavyn, Kara, and Lena. As well as two great-grandchildren, Cayden and Gracie. Angelo has five sisters: Rosina Coppola and her late husband Mario, Carmelina Testa and her husband Dominic, Pierina Kowalczyk and her husband Robert of Southington, Connecticut, Angelina and Ginetta of Caserta, Italy.

Angelo was known for working hard all his life to support his family, while also making an impact with his drive for volunteer work throughout his life, which was marked by always stepping up first as needed. He enjoyed helping soccer coaching for many years with his children, as well as running the lights at the annual passion play at St. Thomas Church in Southington, Connecticut.

Angelo moved to Florida in the late 90s after retiring from GE after over 25 years of service. He moved to Ormond Beach, Florida, an area he really loved, settling in on fishing and watching soccer games. Angelo’s calling to be of service drove him to join the Knights of Columbus and help with all events at Prince of Peace Church in Ormond Beach, from the weekly donuts after Mass, pancake breakfasts, and spaghetti dinners to the Octoberfest Fair. He also found great joy in driving for the DAV (Disabled American Veterans) Chapter 84 in Daytona Beach by taking Veterans to their appointments at the Orlando, Vero, and Gainesville Veterans Hospitals. He connected with the Veterans and enjoyed their company as much as they enjoyed his.

As for his immediate family, he was the center of family gatherings, great cook, innate gardener, bringing masterful flavors from beloved Italy as well as the family together. He made time to learn how his family was doing, and made any guest feel welcome in his home.

He will be missed by many, and at the same time cherished for the time shared together.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, August 29th, 2024 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 600 S Nova Rd, Ormond Beach, FL 32174. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Prince of Peace:
