Alice Mae Kelly Rankin

July 19th, 1933 - November 4th, 2012

Obituary

Alice passed away Sunday, November 4th in her home surrounded by family after a brief illness. She was 79 years old.

Born July 19, 1933 in Santa Monica California she met her husband Earl Rankin in Las Vegas, Nevada. After the birth of their fourth child they moved to Crescent City where they had one child more. Alice was a stay at home Mother until she enrolled in nursing school. She graduated from College of the Redwoods as a L.V.N and began working for Sea Side Hospital where she continued to work until it was demolished and was replaced by Sutter Coast. She worked for Sutter Coast until an injury to her neck forced her to retire. Alice was accomplished in genealogy, music and she loved to read. Alice enjoyed nothing better than a good game of checkers with her beloved grandchildren.

She always said there was never be a more beautiful place on earth as our Redwood trees and you could not find a better place to live.

Survivors:
Alice is survived by her children, Edward Rankin and partner Phillip Stockwell, Earl Rankin and his wife Janet, Raymond Rankin and his wife Andrea Mussen Rankin and her daughter Colleen Rankin and fiance David Wheeler.

Alice is also survived by grandchildren and great grandchildren, Alyshia Rankin, Darrick Rankin, Demitri Rankin, Dimitri Zigotegos , Chris Zigotegos and Joseph Rankin.

She is preceded in death by her father Edward Kelly and her mother Myrtle Kelly, husband of 28 years Earl Rankin, her daughter Janice Rankin Martinson and a grandson Joshua Wayne Salter.

Alices wish was simply this, "Remember me with smiles and laughter for thats how I will remember you all, if you can only remember me with tears and sorrow..then dont remember me at all.." She will be missed more than words can tell.

Family and friends welcome after for food and fond memories at the family home.

We all love you and miss you dearly
