Obituary
Alice Craig, Indianapolis, passed away on March 5, 2024. She was 92 years old. Alice was born to her parents Raymond and Ruth Treeter. Alice married her husband. Jack, on December 24, 1949 and they shared 49 years of marriage together until Jack passed away in 1995. Alice attended Manuel High School- night school as an adult to earn her GED with her family’s support.
Alice worked as a respiratory therapist for University Heights Hospital and went on to work for Community South Hospital and retired from healthcare after over 20 years of service. Alice was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in her younger years and carried her christian faith with her throughout her life. Alice was a member of the Eastern Star Post # 452 for over 40 years. During her time in the organization, she held every position available to support her Eastern Star Sisters. Alice enjoyed participating in a bowling league, the Red Hat Society, the Bell Ringers Club and the Moose Lodge. Alice spent her time watching jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune while crocheting and working on her puzzles. She had a family oriented nature and enjoyed reminiscing about simpler times. Alice’s strong willed nature and loving personality will be dearly missed by those she leaves behind.
Alice is survived by her children, Michael (Debbie) Craig, Kathryn Craig, and Patricia (Rusty) Smith; her grandchildren, Angie (Patrick) Peyton and William (Alicia) Craig; her 6 great grandchildren; her 7 great great grandchildren; her several nieces and nephews.
Alice is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack Craig Sr.; her son, Jackie L. Craig Jr.; her siblings, Wanda Loudermilk and Ray Treeter.
A visitation for Alice will be held on Thursday, March 14, 2024 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm. The funeral service will be on Thursday, March 14, 2024 at 1:30 pm. Burial will immediately follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens at 2:30 pm.
