Agnes “Kitty” Bucek – Born August 15th, 1927 – Died April 21, 2024
Kitty Mcknown Bucek, 96 of Port Saint Lucie Florida passed quietly in her sleep on April 21st, 2024 at 5:00 am
Kitty lived a wonderful fulfilling life, she was loved by so many people, too many to name. She was born in Ravenswood West Virginia and as a young girl endured the abandonment of her father and the passing of her mother at age 13. Kitty lived her teenage years with her step sister until she was 21 and moved to Pittsburgh Pennsylvania and worked as a telephone switchboard operator for Bell Telephone. She met and married Anthony “Tony” J. Bucek, who was enlisted in the Air Force as a fighter Pilot and with 2 children she became a stay-at-home mom. On New Year’s Eve, December 31st, 1954 Tony died in a plane crash. With 2 young children, Jay Bucek, age 4, Daughter Sharon Bucek age 1 and being pregnant with a son, Kenneth Bucek who was born August 6th, 1055 she was forced to raise three children on her own and sold Tupperware. In 1960 she made the decision to move to Boca Raton Florida and get into Real Estate where she could have the freedom to raise her kids without being tied to a 9 to 5 job and make a very good living. She was very successful and became a broker and started her own Real Estate Company called Florida East Coast Real Estate Inc. where she spent half of her Real Estate Life with Partner/husband Alvin Silverman. In 1977 She decided to retire and moved to Hutchinson Island Florida with Al to live on the beach where she became bored with retired life and decided to start a Real Estate Business in Port Saint Lucie called Bucek & Bucek Inc (B&B Realty) where she would enjoy the second half of her Real Estate Career.
Kitty was preceded in death by her husband Alvin Silverman and her son Anthony “Jay” Bucek. She is survived and lovingly remembered by her two remaining children Sharon Bucek and Kenneth Bucek who became her Business partner at B&B Realty. She has 7 grandchildren, Jennifer, Corey, Kathryn, Melissa, Kimberly, Ryan and Crystal (deceased) and 8 great grand children.
Funeral Service will be held from 1:00 pm on Wednesday May 1st at the chappal at Forest Hills Funeral Home in Palm City, Florida
