William C Lucas

Obituary

Mr. William C. Lucas, Indianapolis, passed away February 16, 2023. He was 85. He was born August 31, 1937 in Hustonville, Kentucky, a son of the late Frank and Stella (Fletcher) Lucas.
William graduated from Emmerich Manual High School and soon developed a love for boxing. He was a Golden Gloves boxer and was Indiana State Champion in the late 1950’s. He went on to coach intercity youth boxing at the PAL Club, Brookside Park and the Greenfield Boys Club. William also enjoyed horse racing and gardening but most enjoyed being with and spending time with his family.
William is survived by his daughters, Antionette O’Connor and Mary (Alan) Enright; his four grandchildren and three great-grandsons; his sister, Dessa Kerberg as well as many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
A Memorial Service will be conducted at 12:00 pm, Monday, March 6, 2023 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until the time of service Monday at the funeral home.
For those choosing to make a memorial contribution in William’s honor, the family has suggested those be offered to the Riley Hospital for Children, 705 Riley Hospital Drive, Room 4510, Indianapolis, IN 46202.
