Obituary

Mrs. Annette (Margie) Katechis, age 83 of Florence, passed away on March 20, 2024. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, March 26th at Greenview Memorial Gardens at 3pm. Visitation will be held prior to the service at the Elkins Funeral Home parlor from 1pm - 2:30pm. 
Mrs. Katechis was radiant and beloved, cherished by many and most of all by her husband Chris. Mr. and Mrs. Katechis were married for 64 years, together for 67 years. Their love was a testament to the power of enduring commitment and devotion. Their bond was unbreakable. 
Mrs. Katechis is survived by her loving husband and soulmate of 64 years, Mr. Chris Katechis; daughters, Cindy Smith (Anthony W. Smith), Jennifer Katechis Ouvrard; grandchildren, Anna Catherine Riley (Dustin), Hillary Hines (Andy), Anthony Katechis Smith, and Eva Anne Vance (Brandon); great-grandchildren, Brantley & Maggie Willis, and Georgia & Annie Hines; siblings, Kenneth Jernigan (Muriel), Elizabeth Crane (Jimmy), Estora Pugh (Harold); and numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and family members. 
She is preceded in death by her parents, Marion Jernigan and Irene Hendricks; and siblings, Maxwell Jernigan, David Jernigan, Wilbur Jernigan and Venora Deavers.
