Obituary
Joseph Charles McKeon passed away in his home August 25, 2023. He was short 15 days of his 99th birthday, September 15, 1924.
Joseph was the son of the late Joseph & Dorothy McKeon, Newark, New Jersey.
Loving husband of the late Josephine (Dibella) McKeon whom he shared 75 years of marriage.
Joseph proudly served 4 years in the US Navy, being stationed in Okinawa during WWII.
Joseph and Josephine resided in Brick NJ. He owned a business as a plumbing and heating contractor. Additionally, In 1969 he opened All Sports Sporting Goods Company in Brick NJ.
Joseph was one of the owners of the Brick Ice Rink which he built with other local help and boys from the Brick Hockey Team. He was an active hockey coach and president of Brick Hockey Club.
In 1992 after retirement Joseph and Josephine built a house in Palm Coast, Florida where they spent their winters and continued to live in Brick during the summer months.
They were members of St Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Palm Coast.
Joseph is survived by 3 children, Kathleen Breslin and husband Michael, Pennsylvania, , Colleen Brennan and husband Jack, New Jersey, Joseph McKeon and wife Nicole, Vermont.
He was blessed with 5 grandchildren, Shannon Sinclair, Ryan Breslin, Timothy Brennan, Grace McKeon, Graeme McKeon, and deceased Sean Brennan, 3 great-grandchildren, Aria Sinclair, Sawyer and Arlo Breslin.
A memorial service will be held on October 27, 2023 at St Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, visitation 10-11 AM, service at 11 AM.
Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, East Orange, NJ at a later date.
