Obituary
Janice Lorraine Peel, Indianapolis, passed away on Tuesday, October 3, 2023. She was 87 years old. Janice was born in Pawnee, Nebraska to her parents Wilbur Frederick Beisner and Ida Mae (Dutcher) Beisner. Janice married her loving husband, Stanley, in 1981 and they shared 27 years of marriage together until he passed away in 2009.
Janice worked all her life learning a variety of trades and skills that she carried with her to each new career. Most recently, Janice owned and operated Jan’s Computing; a business where she would teach businesses the latest ways to use professional computers. When she wasn't working, Janice volunteered for St Francis Hospice Center for 13 years. She also enjoyed being a member of The Plymouth Owners Club, The Indy Mopar Club, The Indianapolis Traffic Club and The Historic Auto Club; she served her clubs as treasurer and author of the club’s weekly newsletters. Janice had a lifelong affinity for hummingbirds that persisted due to the creature's apparent fascination with Janice. She loved to watch them use the feeders off her porch. Janice’s organizational skills and go-getter attitude made her a wonderful person to know. She never met a stranger and strived to let her big hearted nature guide her decision making. She will be dearly missed by those she leaves behind.
Janice is survived by her children, Phyllis (Dan) Cowherd, Edward Reynolds, Daniel (Deana) Reynolds, and Carol Bohannon; her 12 grandchildren; her 24 great grandchildren; her siblings, Jacqueline (Harold) Neill and John (Charlene) Beisner.
Janice is preceded in death by her loving husband, Stanley; her parents; her grandson, Jay E. Reynolds; her great-grandchildren, Joanna Bohannon and Travis Bohannon.
