Obituary
Jacques Anthony Joly was born on June 23, 1942 in Ramouski, Quebec, Canada. He grew up in Worland, Wyoming and graduated high school there. He attended college at I.T.T. in southern California. In 1987 Jacques and his family relocated to Crescent City, California, where he found his home in the redwoods by the sea, and Crescent City is where he spent the remaining years of his life. Throughout his life he surfed all over Hawaii, he traveled all over the world but was particularly fond of his time in Jerusalem, Israel. He passionately served God, he was an avid skier, and a talented singer and dancer. In his early years he worked in restaurants and after relocating to Crescent City he became a Supervisor Cook at Pelican Bay State Prison until retirement. Following retirement he became a valued worker at the Community Assistance Network taking on many roles. Jacques was a loving father, brother, grandfather, uncle, and cousin with family spread all over the world throughout the U.S.A., Canada, France, and Chile. He was well known in Del Norte County and the Christian community for his loving contributions to society. Jacques was preceded in death by his father Antonio V. Joly, and his mother Louise V. Joly. Jacques is survived by his sister Jeanne (Lynn) Paredes, his children Jeffrey Duncan, Michelle Anderson, Jeremy Joly, and Christina Zendejas, his grandchildren Matthew, Andrew, and Conner Duncan, Tyler, Kayla, Cami, and Nathan Anderson, and Kai Zendejas, his niece Lori Barry, nephews Jimmy Toler Jr. and Anthony Toler, and countless cousins and friends he considered family.
