George Nathan Strong

Obituary

George Nathan Strong, age 89 passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2024.  He was born March 27, 1934 in Lacona, Iowa to Rev. Evan and Mary Strong. 

George was a 1952 graduate from Creston High School. Upon graduation he relocated to Indiana.  George worked at the Muncie Chevrolet Plant, Marhoefer, H&W Rental, and retired from Muncie Aviation in 2002.  George married Judy Brumfield on September 3, 1983 and celebrated their 40th anniversary this past September. George enjoyed riding motorcycles, driving his Thunderbird, traveling, puzzles, and was a fan of the Indianapolis Colts, Cincinnati  Reds, and Indiana Pacers.   Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.  George had a strong faith in Jesus Christ, attended Forest Park Church of the Nazarene Church and was a member of the Gideons. 

George is survived by his wife Judy, sons, Donald “Don” (Sharon), Robert “Bob” (Cathy), Evan (Marlea) and step-son Timothy “Tim” (Debi).  George enjoyed his 15 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Donald Strong, and step-son Scott Terrell.  

Visitation for George will be held on Monday, January 15, 2024 from 4:00 P.M. - 6:00 P.M. with the funeral service to follow at Garden View Funeral Home.

Burial will be at Gardens of Memory Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to Forest Park Church of the Nazarene or the Gideons International.
