Obituary

Fay J. Shah, a resident of Lantana, Florida passed away peacefully in her sleep on November 18, 2023.  Born on September 1, 1931 in Buffalo, New York to Stephanie Morvitz and Moe Goldie, Fay was the oldest of three daughters.  She spent her formative years in Cleveland, Ohio and attended Shaw High School and graduated from Case Western Reserve University. Upon graduation, she worked as a speech therapist for children who were deaf or had disabilities. 

She moved to Philadelphia in the mid-1960s with her then husband, Bipin Shah.  She lived in the Philadelphia area for more than 50 years and enjoyed the arts, jazz, music and travel and was an avid poll worker during every election.  She enjoyed being politically active.   She volunteered for a variety of causes but of specific interest was the Children’s Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania as well as Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where she helped raise awareness and funds for cancer research. She is survived by her sister Carole, her daughter Nelie, son Kyle and long-time partner of 43 years, Hugh O’Neill.
