Obituary
Dawn Ives entered Heaven on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, in Troutville, VA, at the age 66 years old. She was born on August 1, 1957, in Kenosha, WI and graduated from Tremper High School.
Dawn was predeceased by her daughter, Amy Ives, whose life was tragically taken in a car accident at age of 16; by her sisters, Lori Hoel and Lynnette Romido; and by her step-father, John Walauskis.
She is survived by her loving husband, Robert Ives, to whom she was married for 45 years. She is also survived by a son, Nathan Ives (Amanda); and by 4 cherished grandchildren, Aidan Ives, Jordyn Ives, Kellan Ives, and Laikyn Ives. In addition, she is survived by her parents, Milton Hess (Gail) and Judie Walauskis; by sisters, Lisa Earwood and Candace Gibbons (Brian); and by her brother, Mark Hess (Jenny).
Dawn's love for her family, her friends, and "the least of these" was fueled by her devotion to her Lord Jesus Christ. Her faith was tested and proven genuine through several significant tragedies, and as a result, she was an inspiration to all who knew her.
She expressed her devotion to her Lord Jesus Christ through her tireless love and service to her family. Beyond her family, as a faithful member of Rainbow Baptist Church for 32 years, Dawn served in Children's Ministry and Women's Bible Studies, exercising her gifts of administration and helps and exhibiting the fruit of love to all.
In her later years, Dawn worked at the Blue Ridge Autism and Acheivemnet Center as a special aid. Her love for children expanded during those years to embrace many special needs kids.
The family will have a Memorial Service on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at 11:00am at Rainbow Forest Baptist Church, 1338 Rainbow Forest Drive, Troutville, VA 24175. The service will be officiated by Pastor Mike Grooms.
