Obituary

Cynthia Ellen Schmidt, 57, passed away on Friday, January 6, 2023 at home in Fort Wayne, IN. She was born in Fort Wayne to David and Sharon (Cheney) Redding. Cynthia worked as a surgical tech in labor and delivery for Parkview Regional Hospital for over ten years. She was a horseback riding instructor at Blackstone Ranch and loved horses. Above all else, she loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. Suriving are her father, David Redding; children, Rachel (Jesse Shady) Eloph, Kadie (Jason Bullinger) Eloph, and Brandon Eloph; sister, Barbara Redding; 13 grandchildren; bestfriend, Cindy (Dan) Zilai; beloved dog, Seger; and horse, Stormy. Cynthia was also preceded in death by her mother, Sharon Redding. Funeral service, 12:00pm on Thursday, January 12, 2023 at Covington Memorial Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service. Visitation also Wednesday, January 11, 2023 from 3:00pm to 7:00pm at Covington Memorial Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Heart to Heart Hospice. Burial in Concordia Cemetery Gardens.
