Obituary

Aubrey Richard Kelley Jr., age 74 of Florence, passed from this life on April 17, 2024, following an extended illness. Visitation for his family and friends will be Saturday April 27th from 10:00-12:00 at Jackson Heights Church of Christ on  Hermitage Dr. in Florence. A celebration of his life will follow at Noon. The family will have a private burial.
Mr. Kelley grew up in Lauderdale County , graduating from Central High School, and Florence State College (UNA). He later received a Master's Degree from Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana. Mr Kelley ministered for small churches in Alabama, Tennessee, and Indiana, for over 50 years. He also held many jobs over his career. He taught school, worked at Brown's Ferry, Owned a florist, did lawn service, fostered children, and much more. He served as caregiver to the elderly over 30 years. Even confined to a wheelchair, he had a special compassion for those struggling with life. He listened with ears that couldn't hear, and heard with a loving heart.
  Mr. Kelley was preceded in death by his parents, Aubrey Kelley, and Geneva Palmer Kelley, and numerous aunts and uncles. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Jerrilyn Snell Kelley; Children, Amy Dean,(Garrick), Andrea Dewhurst, Richard Kelley lll  (Kayla); 8 Grandchildren, William, Rose, Maddox, Lydia, Weston, Dane, Harry, and Caroline; Sisters, Nancy O’Neal, Donna Gillen (Craig), Jane Tallman (Paul); Numerous nieces and nephews; Aunts and Uncles, Lila moody, Kenneth Kelley (Elaine), Becky Jeffries (Larry). 
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that you make a donation to the charity of your choice.
