Obituary

William “Bill” Robert Beaver, Greenwood, IN, passed away on Monday, April 29, 2024. He was 91 years old. Bill was born in Shelbyville, IN to his mother, Irene Beaver. He graduated from Shelbyville High School and attended Butler University where he graduated with a Bachelor’s in Psychology in 1957 and Master's in Education in 1963. Bill married his wife, Nadara (Fletcher) on January 30, 1960, and they shared 59 years of marriage together until Nadara passed away in 2019.
Bill worked as a teacher for LaRue Carter Hospital and retired after thirty-seven years of service. Bill was a member of Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church with his wife for fifty-six years. He enjoyed ushering at the church for over forty years and participated as a minister to the sick in association with Our Lady of the Greenwood. Bill was an avid sports fan who supported a variety of teams throughout his life, including the Indianapolis Colts, Indiana Pacers, Golden State Warriors, Butler University Bull Dogs, IU Hoosiers, Chicago Cubs, and St. Louis Cardinals. Bill also enjoyed watching the IndyCar series and playing golf in his spare time. Bill was known to love Reese’s and spending time with his loved ones. Bill put his family and his church at the center of his life. His family-oriented nature, unique sense of humor, and devoted prayers will be dearly missed by those he leaves behind.
