Obituary
Charles Neal Davis, 92, of Florence died Sunday, May 5, 2024, at NAMC.
Visitation will be Friday, May 10, 2024, 12-2 PM at Wesley Chapel. Funeral service will follow at 2 PM. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Elkins Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Mr. Davis was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church. He retired from Reynolds Metals. In the 60’s and 70’s he coached many successful Dixie Youth teams. He loved playing golf and was a member over the years at Florence County Club, Blackberry, Cypress Lakes, and Alabama 60’s Group. He was an avid Alabama Football and Atlanta Braves Baseball fan. He was a very active member of the Central Civitan Club and enjoyed cooking chicken stew and selling onions. He was a former president of Central Community Center. Loved playing Rook and shooting the moon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Edna Fulmer Davis, brothers, Roy W., Lloyd, and Cecil Davis.
Mr. Davis is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Carolyn Murphy Davis; children, Cathy Calloway and Dan Davis (Gail); grandson, Alex Davis; sister-in-law Sue Stevens (Charles); as well as beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and numerous friends.
