Obituary
Mr. Casey Andrew Burdine, a cherished member of the Mooresville community, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 13, 2024, at Tennova Medical Center in Knoxville, Tennessee. He was 35 years old.
Born on August 12, 1988, in Indianapolis, Indiana, Casey was the beloved son of Dearl W. Burdine and Denise M (Wright) Cornwell. He attended Warren Central High School in Indianapolis, graduating with the class of 2007. Casey dedicated two years of his life as a security guard with Allied Universal.
Casey’s vibrant spirit extended beyond his professional life. He was an active member of Thrive Church in Camby and relished his time outdoors. He particularly enjoyed fishing at any lake or pond that didn’t have a ‘No Trespassing’ sign posted. An enthusiast of Magic: The Gathering and Call of Duty, Casey found joy in gaming. He was a fervent football player during his high school years and remained a loyal Denver Broncos fan throughout his life. Cooking brought him solace, and he cherished moments spent with family, especially his nieces and nephews, whom he dearly adored.
Casey is survived by his loving wife, Emily (Hammer) Burdine, whom he dated for 14 before marrying two years ago; his parents, Dearl Burdine and Denise (Pat) Cornwell; his maternal grandmother, Margaret Deaton; his sister, Meghan Frazier (Sean Dixon); his brother, Patrick (Lianet) Cornwell; his nieces and nephews, Braylon, Kayden, Da’Lyja (LieLie), Ma’Shawn (Fat Baby), Za’Kari, Korbyn, Waylon and Savannah; his best friends, Andrew (Jess) Wickam, Dave (Tonya) Owens and Todd (Michelle) Craft; numerous cousins and a multitude of friends.
Casey’s departure leaves a void in the lives of those who knew him, but his memory will forever be cherished. May he rest in peace, his spirit forever cherished in the hearts of his loved ones.
Memorial services for Casey will be conducted at 3:00 pm, Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood.
The family will receive friends from 1:00pm until the hour of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
