In Loving Memory of

Carlton "Carl" Litchfield

December 20th, 1948 - May 3rd, 2024

Obituary

Carlton Richard Litchfield was born on December 20, 1948, in Weymouth, MA.  Carl was a loving husband to his wife, Marsha Ainslie, and they spent 43 years devoted to making each other happy and raising a family.

Carl was a great father to his 3 children and is survived by his son Carl Litchfield and his wife Khadidja of Florida, daughter Danielle Litchfield Forzese and her husband Dave of North Carolina, and Daughter Tina Stoner and her husband Raheem of New Hampshire. Carl was the most amazing ‘Papa’ to his 8 grandchildren, Robert age 35, Ryan age 34, Abel age 28, Jacob age 27, Sean 27, Adam age 17, Brooke age 16, and Zakary age 14. He also has 2 Great grandchildren, Harper, and Braydon. In addition to his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren Carl is survived by a brother, John “Harry” Black and wife Didi of Manchester ME and sister, Bernice ‘Bunny’ Molina of Melbourne, FL. He was predeceased by brothers; Walter, James, Steven Black, and sisters; Edith Safford and Alice French.   In addition, Carl has many nieces and nephews that he loved deeply, there are too many to name, but he would want them to know how much he cared.

Carl lived a full and happy life. He served in the Army, in Korea, from September 9, 1968, until April 15, 1971. He then served in the Army Reserves until 1971. He worked in a variety of professions, but his true joy was his family, his many friends, and hobbies. He loved to go on long drives and photograph the natural beauty of nature and wildlife throughout the State with his wife. He also liked to fish, play softball, do puzzles and he loved to play golf.

If you were lucky enough to know him in life, you will remember his quick wit, big smile, and his love of sunsets. Carl was the kind of man that would do anything to help anyone. Carl passed away, holding the hand of the love of his life, surrounded by family, on May 3, 2024, after a terminal illness took him too soon. He will be forever missed.
