June Marie Hardesty

May 16th, 1938 - May 6th, 2022

Obituary

June Marie (Sliger) Hardesty, 83, of Fort Wayne passed away peacefully the morning of May 6, 2022 surrounded by her loving family.  She was born May 16, 1938 in Fort Wayne to the late Eugene and Adeline (Brinker) Sliger.

June was married to her love, Homer Hardesty, for 62 years before his passing June 3, 2020.  Together, they raised six children.  She worked for Dana Corp for nearly 28 years before retiring.  In her younger years, she enjoyed bowling and being out at the lake cottage where she could take in the beauty of nature.  June was a dog lover and always had a four legged friend by her side.  More than anything, she loved her family and friends and will be missed greatly by all.

June will be forever remembered by her children, Tammy (Walt) Hardesty, Kim (Alan) Garrison, Danny (Debby) Hardesty, Greg (Debbie) Hardesty, and Mark (Becky) Hardesty; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; siblings, Sue Harrington, Bonnie Walker, and Butch Sliger; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, June was preceded in passing by her daughter, Kitty Hardesty; and sister, Laverne “Lucky” Buckwald.

Family will receive friends Friday, May 13, from 10:00am - 1:30pm at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, with a graveside prayer to follow at 2:00pm, also at Covington.
